Crisp hexagonal shade made from papyrus. Papyrus is a natural product therefore it may vary in shading, texture and grain, which is part of its beauty.
This lampshade handmade in England.
The Egyptians used to make papyrus using an aquatic plant to create writing sheets. The plant stalk's tissue-thin layers are peeled apart and stacked in overlapping, crosshatched pieces to form a sheet. Despite giving us the word 'paper' sometimes, papyrus is not a true paper but a transparent thin sheet.
